Dates & Fees

Draft day is set for Monday, August 28, at 6:00pm. Each franchise owner will pay a fee of $50 to the commissioner before the draft, and no drafts will be allowed until money is paid. This money will be used to pay prizes at the end of the season. An additional fee of $4 per team will be collected to pay for stat service. All money collected during the season for trades and acquisitions will be added to the initial pot of $500.

Weeks 14 & 15, will be our playoff weeks, and our Superbowl and Toiletbowl will be Week 16. Week 17, all teams will be involved in a Battle Royale. Regardless of the outcome of the games played weeks 14, 15, & 16, all teams will be back in contention for a special prize of $25. Each team will submit a lineup just like a regular season game, and the highest score wins the prize.

After this prize is paid out the rest of the prizes will be awarded as follows:

1st Place: 50%

2nd Place: 25%

3rd Place: 15%

4th Place: 10%

The winner of the Toiletbowl will automatically get the first pick in next year’s draft, while the loser of the toilet bowl will automatically get the last pick in next year’s draft.

Draft Day

Draft day is scheduled for Monday, August 28th. The draft will begin at 2:00pm, and will consist of 20 rounds. Each team will draft 18 players and 2 team defense/special teams units. Each team returning from last season will be allowed to protect up to 2 players from their final roster from last year. For each player protected, that team will lose a draft pick. The draft picks sacrificed will be in the first (and second) round(s).

The players will consist of --

2 quarterbacks

4 wide receivers

4 running backs

2 tight ends

2 kickers

Due to the early draft date each team will be allowed to draft four additional players of any position, instead of the three additional players allowed last year. This will allow room for any pre-season injuries and players unexpectedly cut from NFL rosters. However, before the start of the season each team’s roster must contain 2 defenses/special teams and 14 players divided as shown above. Any team missing the draft will be allowed to draft from the free agent pool, upon payment of the franchise fee.

Starting Lineups

Most weeks, starting lineups will be turned in to the commissioner by no later than 3:30 each Friday afternoon. The commissioner will have the lineups entered into the league web site (www.valhalla.cc/nlfl), by no later than 11:00 am on Saturday. In the case of a Thursday game being played in the NFL, (Weeks 7,12, 13, & 14) lineups will be due by 3:30 on Thursday (Wednesday for Thanksgiving week.) If no lineup is received, the previous week’s lineup will be used, regardless of byes or injuries. Each lineup will consist of 1 defensive/special teams unit and 8 position players composed of:

1 quarterback

2 running backs

1 kicker

3 wide receivers

1 tight end

The last day trades will be allowed is Friday, October 29th. Each team will be allowed to sign one free agent on Tuesday. Any owner who wishes to acquire a free agent shall inform the commissioner or vice-commissioner which player they want. One player per team will be awarded, on the basis of team record, with the team with the worst record receiving the first choice. If two teams have an identical record, the team the team with the lowest total points will be allowed first choice. On Tuesdays, free agents will only be allocated to teams making a request. Each owner will be responsible for being aware of who is available, if an owner has a question about a particular player he or she may ask the commissioner or vice commissioner.

Team Rosters

The commissioner will post the complete team rosters on the league web site by Saturday, September 4. Rosters will be kept current thereafter. Owners will also be notified by e-mail in the event of any trades or free agent signings. There will also be a location on the web site to check player transaction history.

Ties

Ties will not be allowed. Using the score of the highest scoring active player from each team will break ties. If these players have the same score, the second highest scoring player’s score will be used, and on down the list until the tie is broken. In the unlikely event of a tie still persisting, bench scoring will be used to break the tie. At the end of the season ties in team standings will be broken using head to head record. In the event of a season split, total points scored will be used.

Statistics

Player statistics will be downloaded from www.statsworld.com. Official results posted to the league web site by 6:00 PM Tuesdays. Any questions should be directed to the commissioner or vice-commissioner.
